Scrapstore has 15 years experience of facilitating creative art and play workshops for children and young people.

Scrapstore provides workshops that:

encourage and develop creative minds.
give children access to a wide range of inspiring reclaimed resources that would otherwise go to landfill.
are an opportunity to work alongside artists
create a stimulating environment where children can be adventurous, use their imaginations and have fun whilst trying gout their own ideas.
are inclusive and give support for children working at different levels.
develop an understanding of the value of re-using materials.
develop an appreciation of the environment and environmental issues.
make creations in 2D, 3D on a large or small scale.
use appropriate language for creative activity.
promote independent thinking as well as cooperative working.

Creative Workshops menu

'Scrap-attack'

our arts workers will bring a large selection of exciting scrap materials for children to use. An initial idea will be given with examples shown and guidance on using materials. The group will then be encouraged to work on their own ideas and initiative with support from the arts workers. All creations can be taken home.

Family learning workshops

Creative art and play workshops for families (0-80+years) to engage in creative activity together Working together to solve problems and appreciated each others ideas, a lot of fun is had whilst 'playing'.

Carnival workshops

Puppets for parade

Workshops with children and/or adults to design and make large puppets (10ft) for parades and community events.

Carnival costumes

Workshops with children and /or adults to design and make costumes for carnivals.

Free play workshops

Choose from the following workshops that facilitate a free play environment for children:

Storytelling and dressing up
Den building
Junk music
Scrap-attack freestyle
Play Rangers

Circus skills workshops

Hire our circus skills equipment and 2 arts workers for a workshop where children can learn basic circus skills including plate spinning, juggling, uni-cycling and using the diabolo and poi.

Drumming workshops

Hire our set of African drums and percussion and 2 arts workers to experience a world of music through singing, percussion and movement

Fire sculpture

Make sculptures using chicken wire and fabric then set light to your designs to create a fire sculpture.

Lantern making

Make paper lanterns using withies and paper to a theme i.e. Halloween or procession lanterns for festivals.

Basic felt making

For groups of 10-15 children/adults. Make your own piece of felt to take home

Cardboard constructions

Make large scale play spaces using gigantic cardboard boxes, tubes and scrap materials. Can be facilitated indoors or outdoors to a theme i.e. Pirate Ship, underwater world.

Face painting

We can supply a face painter for your event or a free-style face painting workshop where children/adults paint each other.

(2 x 2 hour sessions on the same day)

(Designed specifically to a requested theme not on the menu)

Extra Hour	£50
(2 workers and materials needed)

Extra worker for 2 hour session	£40
(Needed if over 30 participants)

Maximum of 30 participants per 2 hour session
